Having actively performed together as well as as individuals since 2006, The Seremban Quartet was founded in March 2010, and consists of four young musicians from Seremban who all studied at the same music school, Angel’s Class. A regular contributor for performance at local annual charity concerts to raise funds for various organisations, the ensemble is also frequently invited to perform for various other events, shows, and product launches.
Under the guidance of Angel Lee and Jonathan Oh, the group has participated in masterclasses with renowned international artists – including the Apple Hill String Quartet, the Sirius Quartet (both from the USA), and the Shanghai Quartet (from China) – and is regularly coached by National Symphony Orchestra principal conductor and music director Mustafa Fuzer Nawi.
Having a wide repertoire ranging from classical to pop, folklore and music from films and musicals, the quartet aspires to become the first youth professional string quartet in Malaysia, promoting chamber music and Malaysian musicians to the world.
In 2011, the Seremban Quartet received a special invitation by the Austrian Embassy to perform at the ARCHIDEX Conference. In the same year, the group was appointed as the Ensemble-in-Residence for the Kuala Lumpur International Music Festival, and participated in the 4th International Youth Arts Festival in ChangSha City, Hunan Province, China. The Quartet won the Silver Medal for the competition, and performed for both the opening and closing concerts of the Festival.

The group was involved with several projects under Encounter – the Education and Outreach division of the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas – performing various concerts for the esteemed Hall, including a special appearance for national petroleum corporation PETRONAS at the “Sabah International Exposition”. In September, the group participated in the 6th Malaysian Youth Music Festival, and claimed First Prize for the Instrumental Ensemble Category (Age 13-17). In October, the Quartet was invited to perform for the Concert in conjunction with the Celebration of the 67th Anniversary of the United Nations.
