HKYPA & Euroasia

The partnership between the HKYPA & Euroasia aims to promote music education and appreciation, provide a platform for aspiring musicians to showcase their talents, foster healthy competition and encourage creativity in the music industry. Through a musical and cultural exchange, artists and musicians from different parts of the world can learn from and inspire each other. By sharing their unique musical styles and traditions, participants in the exchange can enrich their own art and broaden their understanding of different cultures. Ultimately, a musical and cultural exchange promotes cross-cultural understanding and appreciation, while showcasing the boundless power of music to bring people together.

The 12th Hong Kong International Performing Arts Festival and Music Competition

Competition format
For the preliminary round, participants can choose to perform live or to send a video for online assessment. Similarly for the final round, eligible participants can choose to participate at the live final round in Hong Kong between 7-9 Feb 2025, or to send in a video submission.

Categories and Fees

The HKYPAF 2024 edition accepts application in the piano categories only. Please click on the links below for more information on performance requirements and fees.

Summary of Rules and Regulations
  • In all classes where an age requirement is stipulated, the governing date shall be 1 January 2025.
  • No restriction in nationality. Photocopy of identity documents such as identity card or passport must be attached for age verification.
  • Contestants can choose to participate in more than one entry, but not more than once in the same class number.
  • All pieces should be played without repeat, except for D.C. or D.S.
  • All competition repertoire need to be played from the first measure, not from the middle. During the performance, the jury may stop and ring the bell if they have their decision. This will not affect the result. Performances exceeding the allotted time limit will be disqualified regardless of the quality of performance.
  • In the Preliminary round and the Finals, the panel of jury has the right to terminate a performance when they feel appropriate. The decisions and results of the competition by the jury are final and indisputable.
  • The organizer reserves the right to disqualify contestants who fail to meet the requirements for competition or who violate the regulations.
  • No person or party who has not been authorized by the organizer may take photos, videos or make any kind of recordings at any session of the competitions. The copyrights of all audio and visual recordings of the competition are deemed the properties of the organizer.
  • Rules, regulations, awards and names of the jurors are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Competition piece(s) changes are allowed in final rounds.
  • Entry fee include: one class competition, certificate, medal or trophy.
  • Participants who are awarded the Gold Prize are eligible to participate in the international finals.
