Adznan Mokhtar was born in 1992 in Johor Bahru. He selected the trumpet as his first musical instrument at the age of 13 while attending SMK Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. In Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), he studied the French Horn as his main instrument and graduated with a Diploma in Music in 2012 and also a Bachelor in Music Performance (Hons.) in the year 2017. He has studied with James Schumacher of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), Nur Saedah Said of the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), Vyacheslav Kim of the NSO, and Grzegorz Curyla of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO). Currently, he leads the horn section in the Kuala Lumpur City Hall Orchestra (OKL) and also performs as a guest horn player for several Malaysian orchestras, including Kuala Lumpur City Opera (KLCO), the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. He plays the Cornford 103 horn.
